What is the difference between tax and financial accountant?
Tax and financial accountant have one word in common- accountant. Those two can be the same but are usually very different beasts. As with medical doctors- every one of them went to a medical school but ended up specializing in different parts of the body and healing of it- tax and financial accountants specialize in different fields of accounting profession. Tax accountants specialize in all things tax: be it income or sales tax. They follow tax legislations closely and are VERY needed when it comes to saving you money on taxes or bailing you out when IRS comes knocking on your door. Financial accountants specialize in financial analysis of the business. They focus more on reporting, analysis, forecast and budgeting. They typically don’t and aren’t required to follow the ever-changing landscape of tax profession and regulations (unless they are a practicing CPA).
What is the difference between bookkeeper, accountant, and a CPA?
Bookkeepers’ role is to focus on accurate record keeping of daily accounting life cycle of any operations. Accountant’s role is to interpret those records and convert them into meaningful data and reporting that helps management with analytics and forecasting. A CPA is a State licensed accountant that can do any of the mentioned tasks as well as offer more State regulated services. Those services can range anywhere from Business Record’s Attestation to Tax Preparation/Filings and IRS representation. Nova Tech has both Accountants and CPAs to help you with any business needs you have.
